Naughty First

I have never been speed dating before but a few friends of mine go to every single event that comes to our area. So far none of them has gotten married to a guy they meet speed dating but they have gotten a lot of dates and one of them dated a guy she met there for about six months. There is a new event coming in two weeks and they have invited me to go with them but I am not sure, it seems to me that I will be veryawkwardat it, I mean I have a hard enough time talking to one guy. I am extremely shy so if I have to talk in just one night to 8 men or more it might be too hard for me. My girlfriend explained that this is how speed dating works and that everyone is relaxed and enjoys it but then she is very outgoing and fun and not one bit shy so of course for her it is easy, I am getting hives just thinking about it.

I am lonely though, I never tell any of them since I keep my private life to myself. I see them go out all the time especially on the weekends and sometimes I wish that it was me getting ready and going out. I wish that I had a guy come to the door for me all dressed up nice. No one ever even calls me and that is a pretty sad thing for a woman my age, I am going to be 25 soon and have only had 2 boyfriends, I don;t think I am ever going to meet my soul mateespeciallyif I don't get out there and look for him.

So I will go to this speed dating event with them even if I feel like I will die ofembarrassmentand I will sit there and somehow talk to all the dates that I get. I will pray that I do not get all red and clumsy and I will try my best to seem normal so maybe the next day there will be a guy that would like to see me for a second date. I would adore that, it would like make my entire year if that was the case and I guess that it will make it all worthwhile for me to have to go through thatexcruciatingspeed dating process.
