It was the year of our lord thirteen hundred and twelve anno Domini. I found myself being called up to the musterfield by the blacksmith for whom I worked. He said that the lord had just pledged four score men for the local brigade and I, being the most able bodied man in the village after the pox of thirteen ten, were most assuredly going to be required. I made my way along the overgrown pathways that snaked through the forest, to the musterfield. It was a low mesa at the base of two mountains. It was a very level field, kept this way to make training easy. I took up my sword and squared off with a guy who was waiting for a partner. We engaged in swordplay. There was much parrying and swinging but neither of us yielded. The fight went on for many hours and when others had given up and had begun the lengthy journey home, we were still there, our swords glimmering in the golden rays of the sunset. When he finally was bested by me I offered a hand to help him up and asked who he was. He said he was a travelling tradesman from the town over the hills. I was amazed I had had such trouble downing a tradesman. He told me it was because he had met an old hag one day and while everyone else ignored her he had paid attention. She then transformed into a sexy cute woman. He was shocked because in all his years of dating women he had never come across one so beautiful. She then took him to her bedroom where she pleasured him in ways unknown to man. She then revealed she was an angel sent by god to test the hearts of men to see if they would see the good in people even if they weren't sexy or cute people. "You bored right now?" he asked. "A bit," she admitted bashfully. "Well let's turn it up a bit then." He motioned for her to take off her clothes. "Wow but its only our first date," she giggled. Suddenly then Sarah, the girl's, father burst in with a shotgun. "You little rat!" he bellowed. "I told you to stay away from my daughter." He cocked the shotgun and aimed it at my heart. "No daddy, no," the girl screamed running towards her father. He just brushed her off. "Sarah go back home. This is nothing to do with you." "Who else would it have to do with," I scoffed defiantly. "Watch yourself smart mouth," the father seethed, his eyes squinting as he pointed at me violently. The father was understandably angry, but he didn't care. After meeting on a dating site they conversed online for a good stretch, eventually setting a date to meet. But one of the stipulations on them meeting was that he had to meet her father first. But after a brief encounter with the father he was forbidden from ever becoming a couple with Sarah. What had he done to deserve this? Nothing the boy thought, but he might have come off as a little too cocky he thought. But they arranged a first date anyway and a couple of days later they went out to dinner and afterwards headed off to the rented hotel room. It was there after only a brief encounter they were interrupted by the mad father wielding the shotgun. The boy, staring down the barrel of the beast of a gun, gulped. Then came a knock at the door. It was the room service. The boy decided this was his chance to escape. He dived out the window onto a pile of old newspapers. It had to be the shortest first date ever. He then mugged a couple and used their car keys to drive their car to his home. He then went to sleep. The next morning he burned the car on the side of a motorway far from his home. After that he vowed to never have a brief encounter again.
